September 2015 Guild Meeting

By 19 September 2015Meetings

Sept'15-06

What a wonderful welcome back to our Guild year! Terrific turnout and lots of wonderful quilts for show and tell, a great talk and sharing by the five members who went to the Dorothy Caldwell workshop in Annapolis Royal and some interesting facts about copyright by Nancy. Thanks to everyone who got us off to a great start.

Sept'15-23

Susan, Laurie, Linda, Val and Jamie all went to the 5 day Dorothy Caldwell workshop.

Sept'15-05

The workshop table was busy with people signing up for our two fall workshops with Linda Macdonald and Deb Plestid. See the preceeding post for pictures and details, there are still spaces in each workshop.

Don't forget you can find out a lot about Guild activities right here on the blog. There is a side bar on the right hand side with links to future meeting programs, upcoming workshops, favourtie recipes, long arm quilters and lots more.

Sept'15-11

Sandra's beautiful quilt "Road to Sedona" is based on a pattern by Anna Maria Horner called Featherbed, the amazing quilting was done by Lynn Jones.

Sept'15-15

The Seaside Stitchers, Marilyn, Sharon, Patsy, Brenda, Bev and Ruth showed us their latest challenge, a "row robin" challenge. They all added a row on each others quilt. It sounded like they really enjoyed this bee project.

Sept'15-07RaffleQuiltGail&Lynn

This is our next raffle quilt Secrets and Shadows was pieced by Gail (l) and machine quilted by Lynn (r). It is a beautiful quilt and we are ever so grateful to Gail and Lynn for all their hard work. The quilt was designed by Denice Lipscomb of Common Threads Quilting, honouring courageous women spies from World War 1 and World War II. Each pattern has amazing and breathtaking stories featuring women such as Odette Sansom, Violette Szabo and Mata Hari. Secrets and Shadows fabric was designed by Nancy Gere for Windham Fabrics. Tickets will be on sale soon!
