A Commotion of Coots, by Cathy D.

The Guild met once again on Monday, April 12 with over 45 Guild members participating on Zoom. It isn’t often that our monthly meeting falls so late in the month – almost half of April is already behind us. Spring beckons and each day the sun seems brighter and lasts longer. No sign of many April showers but no doubt they will catch up with us.

This month the budget was approved for the year ahead. Check out the details in the May newsletter. The Sew and Tell was a treat as usual,  as you can see from the few photos in this blog post. If you weren’t able to attend the meeting, be sure to visit the Album here. Some of the Dresden Neighbourhoods from our March workshop are already completed and in this month’s Sew and Tell – stay tuned for more of those in upcoming meetings. You may pick up some inspiration for quilting your own version.

Sea Urchins by Tara Lynas

Guild Member Tara Lynas was our featured speaker and guided us through her progression as a quilter. It was so interesting to see how, like many of us, she started years ago with a quilt from a pattern and how her creative journey took her in directions she had not imagined.

Be sure to check out the Calendar for Slow Quilting dates and other upcoming events.

If you aren’t comfortable with Zoom, it’s not too late. The email sent on April 3rd with your April newsletter also has a list of Zoom buddies, ready to work with you to ensure you can use Zoom with ease. Hope to see you at the next meeting on May 3rd.
