We set a Guild record for the most participants at our March Zoom meeting.  49 Guild members joined in and we hope that more of you will consider taking part on line until we’re able to meet once again in person. There is lots of help from the Guild Executive if you haven’t given Zoom a try just yet – please feel free to ask!

Our business meeting was short to make space for a special treat.  The evening’s program for this spring meeting featured a special guest, Krista Hennebury of Poppyprint. You may recall that Krista was our EQ teacher in 2017. This photo is my version of her Cutting Garden quilt – the one day class offered that year.Krista gave her presentation – Who Gives a Flying FQ About Accuracy? The one hour session was filled to the brim with advice on accuracy – from cutting, to useful tools, to sewing an accurate seam as well as when it’s important, and how to make improvements.  She offered lots of tips with new information for some, and useful reminders for others.

For example, as she spoke, I found myself. switching the stitch plate on my sewing machine to a single hole plate – much more accurate for straight sewing but easy to overlook! She mentioned how often she has seen rotary cutters assembled incorrectly. Want to check? OLFA has a video to help.

Minutes of the March meeting will be sent to you soon. The April 12th meeting will feature a trunk show – hope you can join in!

In the meantime, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and Happy Easter too!
