Advent Calendar Workshop with Judy Cooper October 5/19

A church and 22 houses surround the Christmas tree in this cute village setting. Each house is a pocket and the roof – a flap. Finished size is approximately 30″ x 40″. Designed by Phil/Lisa Girard

This project can’t be completed in a day’s workshop but with some preparation you will be well underway. I used a mottled dark blue cotton for my background. A solid fabric isn’t suggested as it is too flat. All fabric came from my stash, so it isn’t necessary to make a trip to the fabric shop. I’m sure that sharing / trading of your scraps at the workshop, is one way to whittle down ‘I can’t throw this away, I might need it!’ pile. We all have one of those!

Lots of embellishments (buttons, seed and bugle beads, bits of metallic fabric, decorative yarns and threads) are used to create your own one-of-a-kind wall piece. The sky is the limit!

I will be demonstrating some of my embellishment techniques for creating the ice / snow / Christmas tree. You will find out how I use those pesky metallic threads on my machine.

If you sign up to take this fun workshop, a list of materials and the preparation needed before the class, will be sent out to you.
