Once again our members brought some wonderful quilts and quilted projects to show and tell. Above is Isabel’s Gypsy Wife, pattern by Jen Kingwell, an Australian quilter and designer.

It was a busy meeting, we have a lot going on over the next few months starting with our annual cuddle quilt day this Saturday March 16. We welcome members and friends to come to Trinity United Church Hall and spend the day helping to make cuddle quilts for local charities, we will be there from 9-3pm. Lunch is provided.

Slow Quilting will be back at the Biscuit Eater Cafe on Monday March 25 from 2-4pm. Everyone is welcome whether you have come before or not! Mark your calendars for April 8 and 29!

From April 22-25, 2019 our members will gather at The Quarterdeck for a wonderful Retreat where we can sew all day and enjoy wonderful meals. Our Extraordinary Quilter this year is Elaine Quehl from Ottawa, On. Be sure and visit her website here to read about Elaine and see her quilts. Elaine will be our guest at our “Afternoon Tea and Quilts By The Sea” event at the Mahone Bay Legion on Wednesday May 22 at 2pm. Tickets for non-members are $15 and can be ordered by emailing mahonebayqg@gmail.com Elaine will be our 19th EQ!

Mark your calendars for Saturday May 4, it is time for our bi-annual Quilters Yard Sale. We will be at Trinity United Church Hall in Mahone Bay from 9am-1pm. There will be lots of fabric, books, patterns, notions etc. We are also pleased to have the scissor sharpening service, Blade Runner (Bob Beaulac) back again. They will be set up in our parking lot so be sure and bring your scissors and have the sharpened while you shop!

Plans are getting underway for our bi-annual quilt show, we will be back late September 2020. We NEED volunteers! Please consider what you might be able to contribute to our quilt show, we especially need someone to chair the quilt show committee (this could be a shared position for two people). We are all volunteers, we welcome new members to volunteer! Don’t be shy!

Don’t forget our April meeting is back to an evening meeting on Monday April 1, the hall opens at 6:30 for our meeting at 7pm. Our program will be a trunk show with Debbie Vermeulen and the “TARTS”, Textile Artists! Should be another great program!
