Linda’s Hexagon Crazy Quilt

Linda's Hexagon Crazy Quilt Detail

Just look at the detail and the exquisite stitching! Linda was inspired by Jennifer Clouston’s book Foolproof Crazy Quilting. Our Guild library has this book as well as her second book Foolproof Crazy Quilting Projects. Linda says “They are both excellent books with patterns and detailed stitch maps. I can’t wait to do more!”

Well, we did it! The 2018 quilt show was put to bed by 6pm Sunday night and we were back in the hall, all set for our October 1 meeting just 24 hours later. I think we were a tired bunch of quilters! But everyone was thrilled with the show, the quilts and a job well done by all our volunteers. Thank you one and all! We are already making plans, coming up with ideas and making quilts for 2020. There aren’t enough “thanks” to express gratitude we all have for Barb Himmelman who led the committee and to Christine Bell who jumped in to help Barb. Thank you both so much!

We were grateful to have master long arm quilter Lynn Jones present a program on how to prepare your quilt for a long arm quilter. Lynn gave us lots of tips and great information, thanks Lynn for sharing your knowledge! Visit Lynn’s website here. Also we have an extensive list of long arm and machine quilters who offer their services here on our website, click here to see the list of NS long arm and machine quilters. Be sure and visit our Flickr album for a few more pictures here.

I am sure there will be a much bigger show and tell at our November meeting once we have all recuperated! Don’t forget we have Cheryl Arkison visiting us for a workshop and trunk show on October 17. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. Visit her website here

We are already planning ahead for our Christmas Pot Luck dinner festivities set for December 3, 2018. As always we will have a Christmas ornament exchange (bring a handmade ornament to decorate the tree and go home with one someone else made) and since last year’s pin cushion exchange was such a big hit we are doing it again, make a handmade pin cushion and go home with one someone else made! Be sure and check out Pinterest for lots of ideas
