Mary Elizabeth with her improv wallhanging from Krista Hennebury's workshop.
Another great turnout for our October meeting. We have several interesting workshops coming up. We are delighted that Karen Miller's workshop is full! If you are interested in it you can contact Debbie at debbiebreeze@eastlink.ca to go on the waiting list.
We have been asked by the Father Christmas Festival committee to once again (our 4th year) participate with our annual Christmas Quilt show at their Welcome centre. Details will be available at our November meeting. We will need your volunteer help plus your Christmas quilts, wall hangings, table runners, tree skirts etc. Anything with a Christmas theme. It doesn't matter if we have used it before. Everything brought in will be displayed. This is just a show, not a sale! Our show has always been so well received by visitors and town folk! Come and help, it is a fun time!
Many thanks to MBQG member Heather Sanft who gave us a wonderful presentation about her love of willow. Her will baskets are beautiful and so well made. Thanks Heather for a very interesting and informative presentation.
We were delighted to hear from Isabel and Peggy about their time at the Mayflower Quilter's Retreat. They each won a $500 scholarship from the Guild to attend. Sounds like they had a wonderful time. See Isabel's pictures on our Flickr Photostream.
