Karen Miller from Liverpool, recently gave a 2 day workshop which taught us the technique for making fabric look like tree bark. Everyone was fascinated by the technique and were all happy to share and show! Day 2 was learning to make a butterfly which will sit on the bark. Karen brought in 3 dimensional pvc pipe backings to give a true 3 dimensional finish. So, we got texture and dimension.
Karen was a lot of fun and stopped repeatedly with all of us to guide us during the workshop. I think everyone had a great time. Karen is a wonderful person.
Many thanks to Ann P for the write-up of Karen's workshop. See some of the results (everyone finished!) on our Flickr page here at Karen Miller workshop
