For the past 4 quilt shows that our Guild has put on we have had an optional challenge for those Guild members who wish to participate. Members buy a kit ($10) and by the time of our quilt show next September make a wallhanging, table runner or table topper within a specific size range and to a theme. The completed projects are turned and and hung at our quilt show for a silent auction.

And here are the guidelines for this year's challenge -
*Please keep the theme in mind when you design your entry.
*Each kit contains 5 pieces of fabric totaling approximately 1.25 metres. A noticeable amount of at least 4 of the fabrics must be used on the front of the wall hanging, table runner or table topper. Up to 3 additional fabrics may be added. You may add embellishments such as beads, buttons, ribbons etc. Note: the kit fabrics have not been pre-washed.
*The perimeter of your finished entry must total between 60 and 120 inches.
*The wall hanging, table runner or table topper must be ready to hang, please sew a sleeve at least one inch wide at the top edge of the back.
*Sew the label below to the back of the quilt, lower right hand side.
*Completed wall hangings must be returned to the “Cove Quilters” no later than Sept. 10, 2012.
