The Mahone Bay Legion was all decked out with spring in bloom everywhere! A perfect setting for our first Afternoon Tea with an Extraordinary Quilter and our 19th Extraordinary Quilter event with the last 18 being evening Dessert Parties. We listened to our members and quilter friends who suggested a change and it was a huge success. Many thanks to all who came and supported our Guild. Thanks to all our members who volunteered especially Judy Cooper a very new member, new to Lunenburg county (from Newfoundland) who volunteered to co-ordinate this event. Judy jumped right in and did a super job.
Next time you see Judy, be sure and thank her!
And thanks to Beth Lawrence and Linda Macdonald who looked after all the decorations (including rounding up all those tea pots and cake plates!)! Beth and Linda made all the tea cup pin cushions, all 20!
Elaine gave us a wonderful presenation and shared with us many of her exquisite wal quilts. Such artistry and so beatifully pieced and quilted!
Be sure and see all the pictures from the tea in our Flickr album here.
Pictures from the 2 day “In Bloom” workshop can be found here, where workshop students learned to create depth and dimension and see value, while creating a stunning quilt using close up floral photographs.
The beginnings of a beautiful tulip! I am sure will see lots of these finished pieces at future Guild meetings.
