Secrets and Shadows, the MBQG 2016 raffle quilt was pieced by Gail Stryde and machine quilted by Lynn Jones.
As most of you are aware the Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival, in the past, has been booked the first weekend in Oct. Our Quilt Show is booked the same weekend to maximize visitors to our Quilt Show. We became aware of the date change for the Scarecrow Festival for 2016, it is booked for the last weekend of Sept. We now have changed our Mahone Bay Quilt Show to Sept 23, 24 and 25th, 2016.
This means our Raffle Quilt Draw has to change to Sept 25th, 2016. We have corresponded with the Nova Scotia Lottery Division and they have agreed to the date change, with the following actions.
1. We must suspend all ticket sales until the date change has been corrected on our tickets.
2. We must alert those who have purchased tickets holders as to the date change. We will do this by posting the date change on the Mahone Bay Quilters Guild blog with our apologies and offer a refund of the ticket price to anyone who disagrees with the date change.
3. We must change the date of the draw on the remaining tickets, to Sept 25, 2016. I think it is acceptable to black out the Oct 2, 2016 date and hand write in Sept 25, 2016. Each of you are holding 24 tickets, less those you have sold. If this is unacceptable to you, I will have labels printed with the new date of Sept 25, 2016. I will bring these to the meeting in March.
4. We are currently holding almost 1400 tickets and will be printing little labels, cutting them to fit the line of the date draw, and placing the labels to fit. Extra labels will be available at the March meeting.
