Our October meeting was a busy one! New members were welcomed along with a few guests. We quickly got through our business meeting and then on to show and tell. There were workshops to sign up for, challenge quilts to buy and there was lots of cuddle quilt fabric available.
Marilyn HH has been having fun with her sewing machine thanks to a recommendation from Linda N for an online Craftsy class. Great use of her fancy stitches!
Christine finished her piece Good Morning, from our Becky Goldsmith workshop, love her smile!
Beth had another finish from a workshop. This is her sewing inspired piece from Marianne Hatton's workshop.
There are more show and tell pictures on our Flickr page here.
Most quilters are familiar with the term "trunk show" but have you ever actually had someone bring a trunk full of their quilts to a meeting?
It was a first for us and what a delightful program! Everyone appreciated seeing the quilts of Mr. Tom Thibeault from Tusket and his friends Mary Roberts from Yarmouth and Wanda Long from Dayspring. What a wonderful array of quilts and wallhangings. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
Tom's quilts are all hand pieced and hand quilted (some are quilted by his granddaughter).
This is his latest work in progress, the quilts kept coming from the trunk and many bags! Many thanks to Tom and his friends for bringing all those quilts to Mahone Bay, we all appreciated seeing them so much.
Just a few of the many quilts we saw! Be sure and go to our Flickr page here to see a lot more of Tom's quilts.
