It’s October already and Thanksgiving is looming just around the corner. Hopefully, many of us will be able to spend the holiday weekend with family and/or friends. If that’s not possible, at least enjoy the long weekend in this lovely fall weather or spend some time playing with fabric in your sewing room.

Our second meeting of the year took place Monday evening, October 4. This time, the meeting was entirely on Zoom amid increases in Covid cases in the province.  The meeting was brief, in large part because we had already had the chance to enjoy this month’s program last weekend – Global Quilt Connection’s All Star Virtual Sampler Platter. There were lots of sessions to enjoy over the two day event on October 2nd and 3rd – with the bonus of an extra 24 hours to view each day’s sessions on YouTube. We hope you enjoyed this fall event – and if you would like to see any of these teachers lead a Guild workshop, please let us know at workshopsmbqg@gmail.com. In fact, you might want to check out Global Quilt Connection  to view a new series of short videos by all of their instructors to find out more about the workshops on offer.

A big thank you goes out to those who either attended Pillowcase Day on September 22nd, or dropped off pillowcases after the event. A grand total of 239 pillowcases were contributed to this worthy cause – and from all accounts, the actual day was a lot of fun.

There is one spot remaining for the Guild retreat at the Quarterdeck that starts on November 2nd. Please let Pam know if you have any interest.

Be sure to check out our Album on Flickr for this month’s Sew and Share. As usual, it is impressive.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 1st. We are hoping that this one will be in person, though the hybrid option of participating via Zoom is also in our plans. Be aware that vaccine certificates will be required for all who attend the meeting in person. More information will be sent before the meeting. Hope to see you there – either in person or on screen!
