What a wonderful way to end our quilt guild year, a 90th birthday celebration for Mollie H and Polly G! We surprised them with a delicious birthday cake (made by Dominque, baker at the Biscuit Eater Cafe).
We had a full house and thanks to our President, Pam we sailed through our meeting and AGM. We want to especially thank those who are “retiring” from the executive – Ann P (treasurer) and Rose (program). We welcome Marlene M (secretary) and Heather R (treasurer) and Judy C (library). As well Sandy E and Marilyn V are staying on the executive but with new jobs as our program committee. Thanks to everyone who have given so much time and energy to the Guild. We also want to say “thanks” to Annette and Leigh for volunteering to head up the quilt show committee! watch for more information in September. The quilt show will be late September 2020, be sure and sign up to volunteer. It is a great way to meet people and give back to the Guild.
We all enjoyed a wonderful presentation by member Heidi Wulfraat. Heidi is the owner of Woolworks Studio here in Mahone Bay, if you haven’t been to Heidi’s store be sure and make it a priority, you wont be disappointed. As well as beautiful hand dyed yarns and wool fabric you will also find quilting cottons and beautiful threads. Heidi talked about her two years of study with the City and Guilds program in England. Be sure and check it out. Heidi studied with Linda and Laura Kemsall, be sure and check out their website, it is really interesting. Be sure and check out our Flickr albums to see more pictures from the meeting here and Heidi’s presentation here.
