May 2017 Meeting

May'17-01

Helen Kirk's French Braid

May'17-03Isabel's four preemie quilts for the IWK NICU, thanks Isabel!

What a wonderful meeting, everyone has been busy as seen in our show and tell! Be sure and see our pictures on our Flickr pages here.

We all enjoyed having Krista Hennebury as our EQ this year. I know a lot of people are hard at work on their various projects from the workshops.

It is that time of the year again, time to renew your Guild membership. You can find the information here about where to send your cheque if you can't get to the June dinner. I know Krista would love to get as many renewals in as soon possible.

Thanks to our members, a number of you have stepped forward to join the executive, thank you! It is such a great way to be involved and make some new friends. It is going to be a great year of Guild activities and meetings.

Despite the weather we managed to have our wonderful quilters yard sale last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who came nice and early and set up their wares for sale. We had a terrific turn out of buyers who came from near and far! The Guild table alone made $155!

Celeste Thibodeau Stacey was our guest speaker, she brought so many of her wonderful art quilts to share with us. It was hard to find a favourite!

The stitching details are exquisite.

A wonderful way to create bark on a larch tree.

More pictures of Celeste's art quilts can be found here. Thanks for coming Celeste, we all enjoyed your trunk show so very much!
