February 2017 Meeting

By 8 February 2017Inspiration, Meetings

Luck was with us, the weather co-operated and we had another wonderful turnout for our February meeting. Now let's hope we can get one more in March! Don't forget our March 6 meeting is an afternoon meeting at 1pm. The hall opens at 12:30. Renowned New Brunswick fibre artist Kathy Tidswell will be with us, you can see her work here.

A wallhanging made by Lynn's Mom, Audrey Crawford.

At our February meeting we were treated to a wonderful quilt show by member Lynn Jones who owns her own shop Lynn's Quilting Studio in Auburndale, near Bridgewater. Lynn has a wonderful selection of fabrics and now carries Aurifil threads as well as a good selection of notions and books. Lynn also offers long arm machine quilting.

Beautiful Poppy quilt made by Lynn

We saw her collection of quilts made by her Great Grandmother, her Grandmother, her Mother and some by Lynn herself. How wonderful to have such a talented history of quilters in one family! Thanks to Lynn for sharing them with us. Be sure and see all the quilts that Lynn brought on our Flickr Photostream here.

Anna has donated her quilt Something Old, Something New to be our 2018 Raffle Quilt. Thank you Anna!

We were all thrilled to hear that so many members have stepped up to the plate to help with the Dessert Party April 26 and with our 2018 Quilt Show. There are still a couple of jobs to fill but we are well on our way. New members are welcome and we encourage you to volunteer! It is a great way to meet new friends and do something to help the Guild. We are all volunteers and we welcome help from all our members! More pictures can be found on our Flickr Photostream here.
