September 2016 Meeting

 Our first Guild meeting of the year is now history. We had a wonderful turnout and we welcomed 4 new members! There was lots to do, friends to see and workshops to sign up for. The first one is with Tina Belding "Lady Liberty Goes to Hawaii"

New York Beauty

This is a skill-building technique workshop to learn Karen Stone's foundation piecing method and work with curves to create a New York Beauty block. Experienced/advanced beginners would be comfortable learning this technique. The workshop is Saturday November 12 at the Mahone Bay Legion. Contact Debbie Breeze if you need more information or wish to register debbiebreeze@eastlink.ca There are still spaces available in this workshop. contact Debbie to register they wont last long!

Everyone is gearing up to our quilt show next weekend, September 23-25 at the Blockhouse Firehall. Friday and Saturday from 10-5:30, Sunday from 12 noon – 4pm. Admission is $5, kids under 12 are free! Please be sure and tell your friends and family, spread the word!

We had a wonderful program presented by Moira Devereaux, a local physiotherapist who gave us a great presentation and reminded us to be very conscious about our posture while we are quilting or sewing. Moira can be found at Fluid Motion, here in Mahone Bay.

As usual we had a wonderful show and tell. Our members have been busy through the summer.
