Well, we did it! The Mahone Bay Quilter's Guild held a yard sale with 23 Guild members and friends selling everything a quilter could wish for and more.
The hall was filled to the brim with fabric, thread, notions, books, patterns, finished quilts and quilted itmes plus vintage quilts and sewing machines. I don't think many people left empty handed, there was something for everyone and the sellers left with empty bins and boxes.
Buyers lined up at the door waitng for us to open and the scramble was on. A couple of happy quilters left with Singer Featherweight Sweing Machines – a prize for any quilter.
We lucked in with the weather, a picture perfect sunny, blue sky Nova Scotia spring day. And little did we know when we planned this several months ago that it was the weekend of the "Mayfest – 100 mile yard sale" that takes place every year from Hubbards to Mahone Bay so the crowds were out!
