We had a wonderful turnout at our March meeting of members, new members and guests. Our guest speaker was renowned knitter Lucy Neatby from Darmouth NS who talked to us about colour. It was a wonderful and inspiring talk.
Lucy shared with us her approach to colour and stories about her knitting and design work. As well we had a glimpse into her new love of quilting! It is going to be exciting to see where this will take her. You can find Lucy in lots of places on the internet – her website, her blog (where you can scroll back and see pictures of her quilts), you can find her on the wonderful knitting website Ravelry, see her videos on YouTube and soon she will have classes on Craftsy.com her Flickr website (with lots of pictures) is here. Take some time and go for an explore, you will enjoy it!
Ann's "Star Surprise" quilt from Linda M's workshop.
As usual we had a wonderful show and tell. Several quilts from workshops were shown completed and there were lots of Schlep Bags completed from Donna's workshop too.
And we were delighted to present Jean with her Life Membership in the Guild. Congratualtions Jean!
We have a busy couple of months ahead with Elaine Quehl coming to teach Machine Quilting and be our speaker at the April 8 meeting and Marianne Hatton comes May 22 for our annual Dessert Party and workshops.
Be sure and check our Flickr Photostream for more pictures of our March Show and Tell.
