It is hard to believe that our year is over! Last Monday we had our closing pot luck dinner and we celebrated our 20 years as a Guild with a few special guests.
Before dinner we were interupted by Verna and Gordie (aka Marie Hayward and Debbie Pottie) it seems they got their venue mixed up so we had a few chuckles with them and a song! Thanks so much to Debbie and Marie for coming to MBQg to entertain us, you did set the evening off on a good note!
Another surprise for the Guild was a visit from Heather Stewart, our member from Ontario and quilt teacher extraordinaire.! Heather had a few days off and decided she was in need of some salt air, lobster, retail therapy at Avonport Discount, the Quilters Quarters House Tour, a gathering of quilt friends and our dinner all rolled into one weekend It was perfect.
Heather's beautiful "Snow Goose".
After a delicious meal, wonderful desserts and lots of chatting we were entertained by the "Red Green Quilting Team" aka Kathy Higgins and Dorothy Wincey. Kathy and Dorthy are the program committee for the Mayflower QG and they have been entertaining Guild members all year with their unique approach quilting for less. Their favorite shops are Princess Auto and the Dollarama!
Words can't describe what was going on!
We had a wonderful "Sew and Tell", be sure and check out the photos in our Flickr Photostream.
See you in September, I will post here as often as there is news through the summer. Be sure and check the calendar of events for quilt shows etc that are going on around the province and beyond this summer.
Both a delicious and very funny evening! A great way to celebrate our 20th year.
