2016 Quilt Show part one

By 24 September 2016Community, Events, Quilt Show

As I write we are half way through our most amazing quilt show. We had well over 200 visitors our first day and the reviews were wonderful, everyone was truly impressed, amazed and in awe of all our quilts. I think most people stopped and talked to our members to congratulate us on a wonderful show. We had a bus load of quilters from New Brunswick come, as well as several carloads of quilters from Cape Breton they all had such a great time. So thank you to all the Guild members who submitted quilts, members who volunteered (and husbands who also spent a lot of time helping to hang the show) we couldn't do it without you.

Our quilt show committee co-chairs Barb Himmelman and Marilyn Harris Hart, happy to have the opening done and the quilt show open, they are standing in front of Marilyn's Sunbonnet Sue quilt. Her grandmother appliqued the blocks, Marilyn pieced it and Lynn Jones quilted it.

Things are beginning to come together. These quilts were from a challenge by the Seaside Stitchers based on the Drunkard's Patch block. Great to see them all together.
