Canada’s Big Quilt Bee

The Mahone Bay Quilter's Guild is participating in the CQA Canada's Big Quilt Bee for Ronald Macdonald House. We will help to make 1,000 quilts for Ronald Macdonald Houses across Canada. Come join us Tuesday January 10, 2017 at Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay from 9am – 3pm. Bring your sewing machine, thread, basic sewing supplies, rotary cutting equipment and a bag of scraps. The guild will provide pre-cut strips of the anniversary fabrics and instructions for The Missing U quilt in Cheryl Arkinson's book, Sunday Morning Quilts. You'll learn to piece a slab block, using strips and bits from your scrap bag and the provided fabrics, and take home the instructions for future use. What a great way to use scraps of any size, shape or colour! Come for the whole day or as long as you can; there is no fee.
