SUMMARY:Pillowcase Kit Pick up Day
DESCRIPTION:Due to the approaching storm\, we have decided to cancel the Pillowcase Day planned for this Saturday. \n\nInstead of rebooking we have decided to cut the donated fabric into kits for members to pick up and sew at home.  The pick-up time will be held this Monday\, September 18th\, from 1-3 in the afternoon\, at Gow’s Hardware Store in Bridgewater. (Come to the room in the back of the store that they lend out to charities.)\n\nThe kits may not include the 2″ strip required for the trim piece.  We are hoping that members will be able to add that.\n\nPlease bring completed pillowcases to the October meeting. (Or drop off before that to Janet (199 Mader’s Cove Road\, Mader’s Cove) or Marilyn (704 Main Street\, Mahone Bay).\n\nBelow see three important attachments for completing the pillowcases:\n\n1.  New this year:    Labels – which need to be sewn into the inside seam\, directions attached below. (If the pillowcases are already made the labels will be ironed on after being collected.)\n\n2.  Laundering Instructions ( Important: must be scent free detergent / no dryer sheets – please read attached memo below). SUMMARY:Val Hearder Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Val Hearder is Visiting Artist at the Captain House Gallery in Chester from June 22 to 15 July.\n\nOpening reception 5-7 pm and Artist Talk on 8 July from 2-4pm at the Gallery. The show features a retrospective of Val’s work and a collection of vibrant South African embroideries. You are most welcome to join us to view this art along with paintings by Carol Hansen. This promises to be a fascinating show for anyone interested in textiles and quilting.

DESCRIPTION:This is our Annual General Meeting and Potluck! \nDoors open at 5:30 pm. \nAGM: The meeting begins at 6:00 pm. \nPotluck: Please bring a dish to share. \nFat Quarter Draw: Our theme for this meeting is “Under the Sea” \n\n\n\nAnnual General Meeting Information \n\nRead the Annual Reports included in the June Newsletter.\nDoors open at 5:30 pm with meeting starting at 6:00 pm\nPotluck will begin following the meeting.\nPlease place your dish on the table but should your dish require any last-minute\npreparation\, please make sure it is done in the kitchen.\nPlease bring your utensils\, (cup\, cutlery\, and plate)\nCoffee\, tea\, and punch will be served.\nDon’t forget to bring your “Under the Sea” FQ for the draw.\nDon’t forget to bring your workshop suggestion form that you picked up at the May\nmeeting.\nBe sure and get your ticket at the door for the two fabric draws.\nLibrary books can be returned but not borrowed.\nVolunteer of the Year will be announced.\nThere will be no Sew and Tell.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT GUILD MEETINGS: \n\n\n\nIn Person Check-in: Please give your name at the front desk when you arrive. DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:30 pm. \nBusiness Meeting: The meeting begins at 7:00 pm\, usually lasting 30-40 minutes. \nProgram: Paints and Quilting – Pamela Wells\nPam will show different types of paints and dyes and show samples of how they can be used in quilting.  She will talk about how she got started in design and share some book recommendations. \nSew & Tell: The meeting wraps up with sharing our completed projects. If you’re bringing items in person\, then look for the sign up sheet.  If you will attend via Zoom\, please send a photo of your sew & tell items to Barb Robson at robsonbh@eastlink.ca no later than 2 days before the meeting. \n\n\n\nGENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT GUILD MEETINGS: \n\n\n\nIn Person Check-in: Please give your name at the front desk when you arrive.
